Conference Venue Accessibility Information

Location

WordCamp Europe 2017 will be held at Les Docks de Paris, 87 avenue des Magasins Généraux, 93300 Aubervilliers, France.

Getting there

  • All bus lines in Paris are accessible to wheelchair users. The 239 bus line to GARE DE ROSA PARKS – BASILIQUE DE SAINT-DENIS is the closest to the venue. We do not recommend that wheelchair users use the Metro as most stations are inaccessible.
  • Further information on travelling in Paris with a disability can be found at Infomobi.com.
  • Disabled parking is available upon request. Please contact us.

General information

  • Bathrooms are not gender-neutral, but gender-neutral bathrooms are not uncommon in France and it is culturally acceptable to use whichever bathroom is available or that you feel comfortable with.
  • All bathrooms have at least one accessible stall. Signs will point to the location of the bathrooms and they will also be marked on the booklet that’s provided to all attendees.
  • Assistance animals are welcome, and drinking water is available.
  • Childcare will be available over the two days of the conference (June 16th and 17th). You can find more information and apply for childcare here.
  • Life essentials boxes, containing sanitary products, will be available in the women’s bathrooms. Please let an organiser or volunteer know if you need anything or if it needs to be refilled.

Information for people with physical disabilities

  • The building is accessible by wheelchair, with mild ramps.
  • The floor is flat and is suitable for most wheelchairs and other mobility aids. The building is step-free throughout, and all areas are accessible to wheelchair users.
  • Outlets are available and you’re welcome to use them to charge powerchairs or mobility scooters. You’ll need to bring your own chargers.
  • Comfortable sofas and chairs are available.
  • All bathrooms have at least one accessible stall. Signs will point to the location of the bathrooms and they will also be marked on the booklet that’s provided to all attendees.
  • All doors are standard office doors, wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • The doors are not power assisted and there are no door bells. However, volunteers will be on hand to help if required at the doors.

Information for Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and sound-sensitive people
