A busy week ahead of us – today we’re releasing reserved tickets; schedule to be published on Friday

We are releasing all reserved (but unclaimed) tickets today; and plan to publish final schedule on Friday

This week is one of the busiest leading to WordCamp Europe. As of today, we have sold 2100 tickets and this week we’ll release the rest of the reserved tickets to bring us to the magical number of 3000 attendees. But not only that – you often asked us “when will you publish the schedule?” Well, your wait is (almost) over. We’re happy to say that the final schedule will be announced this week – as soon as we finish rolling out speaker announcements.

Releasing 670 reserved tickets

We released the first batch of tickets after the closing remarks in Vienna and the final batch in February. As of today we have sold 2100 tickets, which is absolutely fantastic! With that, a month and a half before the event, we have surpassed the number of attendees we had in Vienna.

As WordCamp Europe grows, we aim not only for more attendees but for more speakers, volunteers and sponsors as well. To make sure everyone will be able to attend before we even start releasing tickets, we have to reserve some of the tickets for speakers (both those selected and those rejected), volunteers and sponsors. And we did reserve a fair amount for all of them.

Luckily for us, quite a lot of sponsors, volunteers and sponsors already purchased their tickets the regular way, showing their love and support for the European community and WordCamp Europe. Today we are releasing those unclaimed tickets, making sure that everyone who wants to be in Paris – can be.

Finishing the speaker announcements

We started rolling out speaker announcements almost a month ago. Speakers were arranged into thematic groups and we published two announcements per week. For this (final) week we are making an exception and we’ll be releasing three speaker announcements by the end of the week, with the first one published earlier today.

After the final announcement on Friday, we’ll publish the full schedule as well.
